The Department on Aging and Community Living encourages District seniors to become active within their communities to help dispel the common myths of aging. DACL hosts a number of District wide events on behalf of District seniors to help them stay connected and recognized as viable and influential members of the community. DC Senior Games

DC Seniors Cameo Club
The Cameo Club is the local chapter of the Ms Senior America Pageant. The DC Chapter of the Seniors Cameo Club is an ongoing organization of the Senior America Pageant participants who both support the Pageant system and provide volunteer Cameo Showcase performances for nursing homes, veteran's and children's hospitals, and other community and charitable organizations.

DC Senior Citizens Police Academy
In partnership with the DACL, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has created a unique opportunity for seniors to understand the operations of the Department, develop problem solving skills and strategies, become ambassadors to their communities, and volunteer to help solve crime.
