Options Available for Meeting Your Long-Term Care Needs

Many people will face tough circumstances and must make difficult decisions regarding long-term care for family members or for themselves. This is where planning for your long-term care needs can pay off for you and your family! With an aging population, the District realizes the importance of planning ahead for long-term care. Planning can reduce stress and ensure that resources are put to best use.

Get Started with a Visit to the DC Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC)

To better assist DC’s aging residents, including but not restricted to persons with disabilities, the DC Office on Aging, in collaboration with other DC Government Health and Human Service Agencies, has opened its own ADRC to streamline long-term care information, programs, and services for all DC residents.

The ADRC is available to you to discuss your current situation and future options. A consultant will explain services available, discuss eligibility requirements and financial resources required, and help determine your needs and wishes as you plan. The ADRC is here to help you because planning for your long-term care needs can sometimes seem complex and overwhelming.

You can call the ADRC by simply dialing 311 or (202) 724 -5626.
