Grocery Plus is open to all DC residents 60 years of age or older who meet federal income guidelines.

Grocery Plus Program Certification

Certification for the Grocery Plus program at the walk-in clinic or one of the 50+ sites across DC.

Requirements for certification

  • Fill out a Grocery Plus application at one of the 50+ sites around DC
  • Each participant category must bring specific information:
    • Proof of DC residency
    • Proof of age
    • Proof of income

Important notes about the program

  • If an individual does not meet eligibility requirements they cannot receive Grocery Plus benefits, even if handicapped and physically impaired.
  • A client may have a designated proxy to pick up the food.
  • If a person is homebound and has no one who can serve as a proxy to pick up food for them, the Grocery Plus program may be able to deliver the food.
  • Food is picked up once a month.
  • You must enroll in the Grocery Plus Program to receive the farmers’ market vouchers.
