Meals and Nutrition

Home Delivered Meals
This program prepares and delivers hot meals to elderly and disabled individuals who are unable to shop for and/or prepare the food themselves, or travel to a site where a meal is being served. This service is also available on weekends. All meals contain one-third the recommended daily allowance of nutrients.

Meals with Friends
Meals are served in a group setting. Meals comply with Dietary Guidelines for Americans, published by the Secretaries of the Department of Health and Human Services and the United States Department of Agriculture. One weekend site is available.

Nutrition Counseling
One-on-one advice and guidance are provided to individuals who are at nutritional risk because of their nutritional history, current dietary intake, medication use or chronic illnesses. Options and methods for improving nutritional status are provided by a registered or licensed dietitian or other health professional.

Nutrition Education
Nutrition education programs are provided to promote better health by providing accurate and culturally sensitive nutrition, physical fitness, or health information and instruction to participants and caregivers in a group or individual setting, supervised by a dietitian or other health professional.
